Sunday school teacher faces sex charges

A Virginia Beach Sunday school teacher now faces more charges following his initial arrest back on June 19.

Detectives say 18-year-old Shea Huffman sexually assaulted several students who were in his care at the Calvary Assembly of God on Providence Road. Police say Huffman taught children ages 3, 4, and 5.

Investigators were told on June 18 that someone had sexually abused a young child in the teacher's care since January of 2008. Police investigated the matter and identified Huffman as the suspect. Since the initial investigation, several more victims have been identified.

Huffman was arrested at his Virginia Beach home on June 19 and now faces 15 felony warrants including 1 count of Forcible Sodomy, 4 counts of Forcible Oral Sodomy, 5 counts of Custodial Indecent Liberties and 5 counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery.

The Department's Special Victims Unit is continuing to investigate the matter.
