VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police responded to several shots fired calls at the Friendship Village Apartments Monday afternoon and say two people were robbed.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly before 3 p.m. and discovered a man had been shot in the leg. He was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening wound, according to police spokesman Jimmy Barnes.

Barnes said Tuesday the man and a second victim were robbed at gunpoint. The second victim was not shot.

While police believe there were more than one suspect involved in the robbery, they only have a description of one at this time.  That suspect is described as a black male possible in his mid-20s wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. He has a medium skin complexion.

Friendship Village is located near the intersection of Virginia Beach Boulevard and N. Birdneck Road. It's also near Seatack Elementary School. According to school spokeswoman Lauren Wicks, police contacted the school about the shooting, and students on two buses were held at the school. Those students were later dropped off with a police escort.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
