VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A traffic signal on Shore Dr. caused delays for drivers headed for the Oceanfront Saturday morning.

A spokesperson for Virginia Beach Police told WAVY.com that the signal at Shore Drive and Starfish Road was staying red for extended periods.

Police told WAVY.com that the signal will not be fixed until Monday.

Police suggest using an alternate routes to get to the oceanfront, such as I-264 or Virginia Beach Blvd.

The signal malfunction does not cause the road to close, but motorists should expect lengthy delays traveling in the area of Shore Drive and Starfish Road.
