VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The rainy weather didn’t keep several people from protesting outside the Bank of America in Virginia Beach Wednesday.
Several members from moveon.org protested what they call “big banks’ recklessness and greed.” They also supported a protest at Bank of America headquarters in Charlotte.
Protesters want Bank of America to stop foreclosing on homeowners and pay its fair share of taxes.
“We pay our taxes but they’re not paying their taxes,” protestor Joe Cook told WAVY.com. “That’s why we’re having things like having tax increases to support our schools and to pay tolls for our roads because the one percent of corporations don’t pay their fair share of taxes.”
