VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach police have identified the motor scooter operator killed in a crash Thursday morning.
Police said the scooter operator, Frank A. Fiumefreddo, 36, of the 2600 block of Alamance Circle, was traveling northbound on Princess Anne Road around 6:50 a.m. when he struck the driver's side of a 2009 Jeep Compass.
The Jeep was attempting to make a left-hand turn from Curry Comb Court southbound onto Princess Anne Road.
Police said the scooter may not have had a headlight on at the time of the crash.
Fiumefreddo received massive internal injuries as a result of the collision and died at the hospital.
The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
At this time, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
