Knife found in VB studen'ts backpack

VA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A knife was found in a student's possession at Bayside High School early Friday morning.
Jimmy Barnes of the Virginia Beach Police Department told WAVY.com a folding knife was found inside the student's backpack in a gym locker. The school was then placed on lockdown.
Barnes says at no time were any students in immediate danger.
The student may be charged for having a weapon on school grounds.
Internal lockdowns are normal if it is believed any type of weapon maybe be on school grounds until police arrive to investigate. Friday's lockdown lasted approximately 30 minutes.
