VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police have arrested a man officers say killed his ex-girlfriend and stole her car Monday afternoon.
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said officers responded to the 1500 block of Hiawatha Drive around 3 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive woman. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, 29-year-old Mandi Myers, dead in her apartment.
Myers' vehicle was missing from the apartment. Further investigation revealed Myers' ex-boyfriend, Jamiel Douglas Graves, 29, of the 9300 block of Marlow Avenue in Norfolk took Myers' vehicle and a firearm from her apartment, Moyers said.
Graves has been arrested in connection to Myers' death. He is facing charges of second degree murder, grand larceny of a motor vehicle and grand larceny of a firearm.
The firearm was not used in the homicide.
Tuesday morning, a body was found in the building Graves lives in. Jimmy Barnes with Virginia Beach Police confirmed to WAVY.com Graves lives in the same building, which contains two apartments. Family of Phylicia Robinson, who has been missing since October, told WAVY.com Robinson lived in the apartment next door to Graves.
Graves remains incarcerated at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
