Police officer involved in crash

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A Virginia Beach police officer was involved in a crash Wednesday evening on Independence Boulevard and Bonney Road.

Police said the officer was driving an unmarked car.

The car had to be towed away.

The driver told WAVY.com he didn't see the cruiser as it pulled out to catch a red light runner, until it was too late.

The crash happened around 6:45 p.m.

No one was hurt.

There is no word yet on any charges.
