VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A police officer, in an unmarked car, was involved in a crash at the corner of Monet Drive and Dam Neck Road in Virginia Beach Tuesday morning.

Investigators determined the officer struck another vehicle that ran a red light at the intersection, just before 8:30 a.m. Both vehicles ended up in a patch of bushes.

Officers responding to the crash issued the civilian driver a summons for running a red light. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
