VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Police say officers used a Stun Gun on a man threatening to stab himself early Friday morning in the Lake Placid section of Virginia Beach.
According to Jimmy Barnes with the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers responded to the area for a domestic situation. They saw a woman outdoors shortly after 1 a.m. screaming for help. Barnes says officers entered the home and were told a man had locked himself inside of a bedroom and stabbed himself.
Barnes says officers then walked in on the man picking up a knife and pointing it at himself. When he refused to drop the knife after being asked twice, officers used a Stun Gun on the man. He was taken to a hospital and did not sustain further injuries.
