VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The Virginia Aquarium Stranding Response team has had some trouble reaching a seal with netting caught around its neck.
According to Joan Barnes with the Virginia Aquarium, the team was alerted by Brian Lockwood, better known as Jet Ski Brian about the seal on Saturday. Lockwood posted on his blog that he found the seal while fishing at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.

Barnes told WAVY.com the 300 pound adult seal was on the rocks, so crews were having a hard time reaching him. If the seal were to strand on a beach, crews may be able to remove the netting.
The seal does appear healthy at this time, Barnes added.
