VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Automotive gear assembly maker IMS Gear Virginia Inc. is planning a $35.5 million expansion of its Virginia Beach production facility.
Gov. Bob McDonnell said Friday that the expansion will create 80 jobs.
The Virginia Beach facility opened in 2000.
IMS: Gear Virginia produces metal and plastic gear assemblies for automatic automotive seats. The company is a subsidiary of Germany-based IMS: Gear GmbH.
McDonnell approved a $200,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund and a $300,000 performance-based grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership program for the project.
