Fire damages home in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Firefighters battled a large fire at a Virginia Beach home late Sunday night.

Virginia Beach fire officials say crews were dispatched to Brandon Boulevard around 10:40 p.m. for a report of a residential fire. The home sustained heavy fire damaged.

The cause of the fire was attributed to improperly discarded smoking materials. Further details were not released.
