VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Officials say a dryer unit sparked a fire at an apartment complex Monday evening.
According to Ray Smith with the Virginia Beach Police Department, crews responded to the Banyan Grove at Towne Square complex at approximately 5 p.m.
Crews saved a dog from the apartment and no injuries were reported. The fire was contained to one apartment.
Smith said although the cause is still under investigation, it appears as though it was caused by a dryer unit.
