VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - AvalonBay Communities, Inc. will be expanding in Virginia Beach, adding 85 new jobs in the process.
The Alexandria-based company will expand its Corporate Shared Services Center in Virginia Beach. The center opened in 2007 and will be expanded by 17,509 square feet along Sabre Street.
The expansion will add 85 jobs, bringing the total number of employees to 235.
“AvalonBay’s Virginia Beach location provides vital financial and management support for its apartment communities across the country,” Warren Harris, director of Virginia Beach Economic Development said. “It has made a significant investment in our city not only in terms of its physical size, but also in its investment to hire and train a very competent workforce.”
The City of Virginia Beach said AvalonBay was awarded and Economic Development Investment Program grant of $25,000.
