VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Fire crews were able to bring a house fire under control in about half an hour Monday morning.
Battalion Chief Tim Riley with the Virginia Beach Fire Department told WAVY.com firefighters were dispatched to the 4000 block of Sherman Oaks Avenue in the Salem Woods section of the city around 9:45 a.m.
An accidental chimney fire sparked at the home and extended to the attic. The home suffered smoke damage on the first floor.
Four people were displaced as a result of the fire.
