VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - In a ceremony Wednesday evening, the Virginia Beach Firefighter of the Year was named and a plaque was presented honoring responders of the Mayfair Mews jet crash.
The ceremony was held at Landstown High School where Capt. Dan Fentress was honored with the Firefighter of the Year.
"It's that commitment, integrity, honesty and the love for the job and hope that I walk the walk and not talk it," Fentress said.
A plaque was given in recognition for all of the fire companies that responded to the Mayfair Mews jet crash in April 2012.
