VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach police say a mother could face charges after she left her 21-month-old child in her vehicle, that was towed.
Police told WAVY.com they were called to the 4300 of Duffy Drive Wednesday afternoon. A mother frantically dialed 911 saying her vehicle and her toddler were missing.
The woman allegedly ran inside of her apartment at the Villas at Bellamy to quickly grab something, parked her SUV in a fire lane outside of her home and left her toddler inside.
When she came back, both the vehicle and little boy were gone.
The SUV and the child ended up in Norfolk. Police say a tow truck driver with Aristocrat Towing towed the car, which had dark-tinted windows, because it was illegally parked.
The little boy was reunited with his father and was not hurt in the incident.
