VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A former Virginia Beach club owner was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to an aggravated sexual battery charge.

The battery charges against Henry Allen Fitzsimmons stemmed from reports of young women who came to him for help. According to an earlier report by the Associated Press, "in exchange for money, a place to live and the promise of a college education, they agreed to be spanked if they broke his rules".

The women said Fitzsimmons' punishments went too far. One of the women said she was sexually assaulted.

Fitzsimmons was also convicted on one count of perjury. According to Macie Pridgen, with the Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney Office, the former owner of Club Envy lied about not being a convicted felon when he obtained his liquor license.
