The USS Cole will be part of the 9/11 anniversary ceremony in downtown Norfolk.
Seventeen locally-based sailors died when terrorists bombed the warship in October 2000.
At the time of the attack the ship was refueling in Yemen.
The ship and its crew will arrive at Nauticus on Friday afternoon, be open for public tours on Saturday and Sunday, and take part in the City of Norfolk's "10th Anniversary Healing and Remembrance" ceremony, complete with jet flyover and gun salute.
The USS Cole will be open for tours on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Town Point Park.
