BRUNSWICK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Two people were killed in a tractor trailer accident Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle ran off the road and became engulfed in flames, according to Virginia State Police.
Police said the trailer's front axle had a problem on Interstate 85 south in Brunswick County when it ran off the road, struck several trees and caught fire.
The victims were burned beyond recognition, police said.
No additional information was provided. The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the victims' identities have not yet been released.
