NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - A state trooper was injured after hitting a tree while avoiding a deer on the Eastern Shore early Friday morning.
Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said the trooper was involved in an accident avoiding a deer on Route 13 at the intersection of Route 600 in Northampton County around 1 a.m.
The trooper ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree. He was transported to Riverside-Shore Memorial Hospital complaining of pain.
