VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police have identified the man found dead inside a car at the 7-Eleven in the 300 block of Lynnhaven Parkway early Saturday morning.
Police identified the victim as Darrel Spencer, 20, of the 6600 block of Stoney Point South, Norfolk.
Police spokesman Adam Bernstein said 911 dispatchers got the first call of the shooting at 1:40 a.m. Officers arrived to find Spencer and two other victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced Spencer dead at 2:01 a.m.
Medics treated the two other victims for non-life threatening wounds.
Bernstein said a crowd from the nearby Hangar 09 nightclub formed in the 7-Eleven parking lot. A fight broke out, which resulted in the shooting. Police recovered a shotgun near Spencer's vehicle.
Investigators remained on scene into the morning hours Saturday talking with witnesses and combing through evidence. Police have not made any arrests.
