YORK COUNTY, Va. - Interstate crews are shutting down part of I-64 Friday, to repair more than 500 feet of guardrail damaged during a multi-vehicle accident.
Drivers should expect single left lane closure at the Camp Perry Exit (238) from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with work resuming after evening rush hour at 7 p.m. through completion.
Virginia State Police responded to an accident involving a car carrier and another vehicle in York County at Camp Perry Thursday afternoon just before rush hour, causing a messy commute.
According to state police, the car carrier came apart and struck an overhead sign and a pole at Camp Perry.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reopened Interstate 64 Eastbound to all traffic at 11:00 p.m. Thursday night.
