CHESAPEAKE, Va. - VDOT officials tell WAVY.com a tractor trailer caught fire Friday morning, causing some delay on Interstate 64 at Bowers Hill. Check out video of the fire posted in the video player to the left of this story.

All westbound lanes on I-64 were shut down for a short while as crews worked to put out the blaze.

Traffic is once again flowing in both directions. However, delays continue southbound at I-664 from Portsmouth Blvd.

Motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route.

No word on injuries or what may have caused the fire.
