Tickets for Dalai Lama gone in minutes

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) - A staggering 3,000 tickets to see the Dalai Lama at the College of William and Mary sold out in just minutes Wednesday morning.

The Dalai Lama will visit the college on Oct. 10 to deliver a lecture at 2 p.m. in Kaplan Arena at William & Mary Hall. Tickets went on sale at 8 a.m. and were available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Brian Whitson with the college told WAVY.com tickets sold out in just 20 minutes.

Ticket prices were $15 for the upper level and $25 for the lower level.
