SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The City of Suffolk's take on National Night Out earned them a top five finish for their population category in the National Association of Town Watch.

According to a news release from Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, this marks the seventh year in a row the city has been recognized for their involvement in the nationwide program to prevent drugs and gangs from taking over neighborhoods.

Suffolk was the highest ranking city in the entire state of Virginia for their "Going Away Party for Crime."
