Coffee plant evacuated for fire

No one was hurt

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Suffolk Fire and Rescue has a fire at the Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA, Inc. plant under control.

Diana Klink, with the City of Suffolk, said fire crews were called to the plant, located at 1370 Progress Road, at 3:51 p.m.

The plant was evacuated and all employee were accounted for.

Klink said the fire was restricted to the dust collection area of the plant. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Chuck Gosstrom, the Senior VP of Operations said, "No one was injured in the fire. The plant is expected to be back to full production by the end of the week and workers scheduled for the second shift were asked to come in this evening."

Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA, Inc. is based in Portsmouth at 200 Port Centre Pkwy.
