SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Suffolk Police say a middle school student brought a knife to school Friday morning.

According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, a student was reported to have a knife in his backpack at John Yeates Middle School between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. The student was pulled out of class and his backpack was searched.

During the search, officials recovered a silver, metal knife, Klink said. The student said he brought the knife to school to show his friend.

No one was threatened or hurt during the incident.
