SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - One person was extricated from a vehicle on Route 58 in Suffolk Friday morning after the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Police said the accident was reported around 7:15 a.m. on Route 58 eastbound near the Virginia Department of Transportation Weigh Station scales.
The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pinned inside.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue extricated the driver in about 15 minutes.
He was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
