SUFFOLK, Va. - NTSB investigators found the pilot at fault in a Suffolk crash where they say the plane ran out of fuel.

On August 3, a Mooney M-20 made a forced landing on Deer Forest Road, hitting several trees on the way down. The National Transportation Safety Board said the pilot was buzzing his house when his engine quit.

The investigation revealed the plane's fuel gauges didn't work, and the Mooney ran out of fuel. The pilot, James Beauchamp, 66, and two passengers survived the crash.
