SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Suffolk man found a bullet in the side of his home as he was taking down Christmas decorations Friday morning.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Battery Avenue for a report of a bullet found in someone’s home. Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said the homeowner told police he heard about 15 gunshots close to his home on New Year’s Eve just before 9:45 p.m.

Klink said the bullet was recovered from the home. It looks as though the bullet was fired into the air and not directly at the house.
