One dead in crash on Whaleyville Blvd.

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - One person has died and another airlifted to a local hospital after a serious crash along Whaleyville Boulevard in Suffolk Tuesday.

Tim Kelley with the City of Suffolk said the crash occurred around 11:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of Whaleyville Boulevard when a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle collided head on.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, 45-year-old Yvonne Carol Jones Dailey, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kelley said the driver of the pickup truck was extricated from the truck and was transported via Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Her condition is unknown.
