SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Suffolk police say someone passed off three fake bills at an area store.

Investigators say a customer at Bennetts Creek Farm Market on Bridge Road used three counterfeit $5 bills to make a purchase.

Employees found the money Feb. 7, but say they got it sometime after Jan. 27.

Police say this case is unusual, because most fake bills are of higher denominations.
