PARKSLEY, Va. (WAVY) - An arsonist on the Eastern Shore set an outbuilding on fire Saturday night, which marks the 41st similar fire set in Accomack County since November.

Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations received a request by the Parksley Volunteer Fire Department for an arson investigator.

Someone set the unoccupied outbuilding on fire at the 18000 block of Cassatt Avenue in Parksley. The outbuilding sustained some structural damage but was not a total loss.

There were no injuries and the method of origin is believed to be associated with the other fires started in Accomack County, according to State Police.

State Police continue the ongoing criminal investigation into the arsons.
