NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Anne McNamara reported live from Jefferson Avenue and reported seeing about half an inch of snow and slush, covering a sheet of ice.
She reported cars were going much slower during the evening commute and ice forming under the now.
Newport News dispatch reported they were working 11 accidents at 5:30 p.m. but had responded to many more prior to those. By 6 p.m., traffic was moving smoothly on Jefferson Avenue.
