VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Hundreds of dedicated shoppers took to Hampton Roads stores Friday morning, hoping to grab the best deals on one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

Some shoppers went hopping storefront to storefront Friday morning, like Erin Lasseter.
"I got up this morning probably about 8 o'clock but we had a late night last night," Lasseter said. " We went to Target, and Sears. We had to do it up right!"
WAVY.com asked some shoppers at a Virginia Beach J.C. Penney if the long lines and crowds were worth the wait. They said the adventure of chasing the deals made it all "absolutely" worth it.
