NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - A school bus rear ended a tractor trailer along the Eastern Shore Tuesday, according to state troopers.

Leonard Sturgis with the Virginia State Police told WAVY.com the crash occurred in the town of Nassawadox in Northampton County around 12:15 p.m. on Route 13.

Patty Mysko, executive assistant to the superintendent at Northampton Public Schools told WAVY.com the small bus takes high school students to and from the Eastern Shore Community College.

There were students on board, according to Mysko. Sturgis said two students and the bus driver were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The students suffered minor cuts and bruises.

The bus driver has been cited for following too closely.
