Local SBA outreach centers to close
Loans will still be available online or by phone

NORFOLK, Va. - Two local outreach centers offering help to those applying for financial assistance following last month's noreaster will shut down Thursday. The Ocean View Senior Center on East Ocean View Ave. in Norfolk and the Northampton Community Center on Todds Lane in Hampton will close at 5 p.m.
Those in need of assistance may still apply for the loans online or by phone. Individuals have until January 25 to apply and businesses have until August 2010.
Persons seeking assistance has dropped significantly, according to Norfolk city officials, prompting the center's to close.
Loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for loans up to $40,000.
For small businesses and most private non-profit organizations of all sizes, the SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster.
