HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) - When all the snow and ice melts away, local and state road crews will almost certainly be working hard to repair all the potholes caused by the winter weather.
"There's a lot of potholes out here," said one driver. "And ice, there's a lot of ice too."
For now though, VDOT's immediate concern is still the dangerous ice.
"Right now we are still in emergency response mode. There are still icy conditions on the bridges and overpasses and ramps. Drivers still need to use extreme caution on the interstates," said VDOT spokesperson Nora Jump-Scott.
She said VDOT has only received two pothole complaints so far.
If you notice any hazardous road conditions, ice or potholes, you can report them by calling VDOT's Hotline at 1-800-FOR-ROAD (800- 367-7623).
