NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - 10 On Your Side is closely following pothole reports and repairs throughout Hampton Roads, specifically on eastbound Interstate 264.

Shelton Snow of Hampton was driving on I-264 eastbound to work in Virginia Beach when he noticed several potholes ahead of him.

"There was a car on my other side so I had to hit it and after about a quarter of a mile I felt my car pulling to one side," Snow said. "When that happened I pulled over to the side and saw my tire was blown.

Snow told WAVY.com the repair bill to replace a set of tires and rims came to $1,200.00.

"I always said these potholes need to be repaired.," Snow said. "They need to be fixed. A lot of people spend a lot on money on rims and tires."

At Bo's Tires and Rims in Norfolk, dozens of tires are repaired every day and a number of the jobs are for damage from potholes.

"When we have an impact hit causing damage to the wheel, it causes damage to the tire by the time you get pulled over," owner Bo Newberry said. "It could cause other damage as far as alignment goes. The car is shaking."

A VDOT spokesperson said repairs to that stretch of roadway are on the way and drives should see improvements by late spring or early summer.
