NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - It seems no where in Norfolk is exempt from potholes. 10 On Your Side's Melanie Woodrow found potholes from ODU's campus all the way to the Navy base on Hampton Boulevard Friday morning.
"If you got on nice rims and nice tires it'll sure damage them," said Raheem Bynum. "Cost you a whole lot of money," he continued.
Cab Driver Greg Larson told Woodrow, "It's cost me money as a matter of fact. I've had to replace that front tire. Once they let it slide and once they charged me for it," said Larson.
Larson work at the Norfolk Naval Base. He said the city told him they were going to get to the potholes within 48 hours, but he said some have been there 2 to 3 weeks.
When 10 On Your Side confronted the city about the potholes, a spokesperson with Public Works told us the city is aware of both areas, but could not give a specific date for when they would be repaired.
Norfolk Management Services Administrator Pamela Marino told 10 On Your Side, "The city is trying to fill potholes within a week of becoming aware of them."
Until then, drivers beware.
