PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Charges are pending against an 11-year-old elementary school student after police say the child brought a bullet to school.
Portsmouth Police were contacted about the incident at Parkview Elementary School around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday after a student at the school told a teacher another student was showing off the bullet.
The school was on lockdown for a short period as officers investigated, according to police spokeswoman Jan Clark.
Officers recovered the bullet and the student was turned over to the custody of his parents.
