PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Local musicians came out Sunday afternoon with a goal of helping injured veterans heal in Portsmouth by taking part in a fundraiser for the nonprofit "Guitars for Vets."
The organization raises awareness for the role music can play in helping heal the "invisible side effects" of post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.
Guitars for Vets offers a ten week session to interested veterans. It includes songwriting, guitar lessons, and a free guitar for the wounded warriors.
