PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Portsmouth Police have released the identity of the woman found dead in a Port Norfolk home on Feb. 7. Ann Marie Gilkerson, 41 of the 4900 block of Fennell Lane in Suffolk, was found at the residence of 701 Broad Street in the Port Norfolk section of Portsmouth.
According to Jan Westerbeck with Portsmouth Police, friends went to visit a woman who lives at this residence and found the woman not breathing. Westerbeck says when officers arrived, they immediately discovered that this was a homicide.
Gilkerson was pronounced dead by medic units in the house from trauma to the body, according to police.
The investigation is still ongoing, and Westerbeck says that there is no suspect information at this time.
