PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - The Hoffler Creek Wildlife Foundation in Portsmouth has announced it will re-release two Great Horned owls at the Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve an noon on Saturday.
The Owls, according to a news release, were found covered in sludge and unable to fly at Craney Island on March 13.
Bird rehabilitators Pearl and Jimmy Beamer took the injured owls in, washed them off, monitored them and have decided it's time to set them free.
The Hoffler Creek Wildlife Foundation is a 142-acre wildlife preserve located at 4510 Twin Pines Road in the Churchland area of Portsmouth.
The owl's release is open to the public
