VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Two Virginia Beach schools were briefly on lockdown Friday afternoon as a precaution, during a police investigation.
Police spokesperson Margie Long told WAVY.com officers responded to a call of a man pointing a gun at another man, at Governors Way and Holland Road at around 2:15 p.m.
The victim was able to provide a description of the suspect's vehicle to police. Officers located it at Princess Anne and Green Meadows, but the suspect wasn't in it.
The police helicopter aided in the search and the suspect was eventually caught.
Kempsville Meadows Elementary School and Larkspur Middle School were put on lockdown for about 20 minutes during the search, according to Virginia Beach Schools Spokesperson Eileen Cox.
