WINDSOR, Va. (WAVY) - The Windsor Police Department is investigating an alleged assault at a senior healthcare facility.

Officers were called to Consulate Health Care on Courthouse Highway at 3:45 p.m. on Feb. 27.

According to Chief Arlis Victor Reynolds, the call was in reference to an assault between a staff member and a patient. Reynolds said preliminary investigation shows the assault was self defense on part of the staff member.

Earlier this month, police were called to Consulate Health Care for an aggravated assault in an Alzheimer's ward.
