NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Police in two Peninsula cities have obtained warrants for a suspect wanted in two separate shootings on Saturday that left one man hurt and another dead.

The first shooting happened in the 1300 block of Queen Street in Hampton just before 3:30 p.m., leaving a 20-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower torso and hand.

The second shooting happened at 9:36 p.m. in the 700 block of 36th Street in Newport News and resulted in the death of 22-year-old Darntrell Belle.

Both victims lived in Hampton, and police say 19-year-old Tyrek Allen is a suspect in both incidents.

Belle's family says once he was taken to the hospital, doctors told them Belle had been shot 15 times.

"It's hard," Belle's grandmother Brenda Wilkes said. "They took my baby from me. They took him from me."

"With these types of crime, [Allen is considered] armed and dangerous," Hampton Police Division spokeswoman Mary Shackelford said.

Holly McPherson with the Newport News Police Department said both police agencies were working together and would like the community's help locating him.

Additionally, Newport News Police have warrants on file against Allen for his alleged involvement in a triple shooting on Feb. 21 near the intersection of 33rd Street and Marshall Avenue. The warrants include three counts of malicious wounding and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Anyone with information about Allen's whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
