VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Police arrested a man Wednesday in connection with attacks on two hotel guests Tuesday night, according to Virginia Beach police spokesperson Margie Hobbs.

Hobbs says two suspects knocked on the doors of hotel guests staying at The Sandpiper Inn on Pacific Avenue in Virginia Beach and forced their way into the rooms. One suspect had a knife, the other had a shotgun.

One of the hotel guests was cut with the knife and sustained facial injuries. Another guest was also injured, but Hobbs said they will both recover. A police report did not list stolen items.

Jonathan Antonio Reid, 25, of Shipps Lane was arrested at his home and charged with use of a firearm, possession of burglary tools, malicious wounding, conspiracy and attempted robbery.

Police are still looking for a second suspect. He is described as black, in his 30s, and about 5-feet-9-inches tall with a thin build and scruffy appearance. The suspect was last seen wearing black pants and black T-shirt and sweatshirt.
